Did you know that a balance support dog should be at least 45% of the person’s height and 65% of the person’s weight? That means that a 6 foot tall man needs a 30” dog. Veterans and other adults with mobility issues are often too much strain for a smaller dog. With Great Danes, mobility and stability are at your fingertips - literally!

Great Danes sometimes get a bad reputation for being lazy. However, this is part of what makes Great Danes so great for the job. Danes aren’t actually lazy. They often are bursting with energy, tearing around the yard or tumbling with playmates. When it’s time to get up and work, no problem. Time to rest? No problem either. SDP’s Danes are taught to ignore distractions, but the dogs’ affinity for laying down and snoring makes them perfect for a workplace or school companion.
